I need help with my Speedo,Any Suggestions?

I have an 89 camaro and my speedometer went out about a year ago, just a little to lazy to fix it. But I have tried to figure out how to get it working, I've taken apart the cluster and the cable is fine their, then looked under the hood and under the car to find out if theres something wrong with the cable and no luck, where at does the cable exactly hook up, cause i sure can't find it, you experts can tell that i'm just starting to learn the awesome world of automechanics and any suggestions will help.

I've never looked exactly where the speedo cable is routed on my camaro but, it's hooked directly from the tailshaft of the trans. to the speedo. If I'm not mistaken, it will connect just the same weather you have cruise or not unless you have the old style cruise (pre-85?) that is cable driven.

Alot of times, while the cable can appear to be fine on both ends visually, it can break anywhere inside the liner.

*edit - welcome to the boards btw
