swapping '86 gauges into a '85
I want to put '86 gauges into my '85 TA, especially the 140 speedo. Will they hook right up? Is there anything special I have to do? Does the '86 speedo still use the cable?
yup, fun stuff. I just did it but need to work out some problems. Havent got the car on the road yet(other reasons). Also here is a link to the tech article I used. http://www.angelfire.com/mt/psh/speedo.htm

Well, I think the battery is totaly shot, so I am going to throw in the battery out of my brothers RS tomorrow to see if that helps anything. If that doesnt I think I am going to try putting in one of the older clusters in but still use the tach and speedo out of this one.

Is there a electronic speed sensor(vss?) in my '85? If so, will the '86 gauge work with it?
Thanks
