Gauge cluster swap problems

I have an 85 transam that I put a 350 in(ran for the first time today). Anyway, I used the tech article on here to wire up an electric 140 speedo from an 89 gta. Well, I think that there is something wrong with the cluster but was wondering if there was any other explanations. When I ran it the tach wouldnt work, and the speedo gauge was varying(very jumpy) with rpm. The left turn signal flashes the right signal on the dash, and the right one doesnt do anything on the dash also the brights light is always on. I have a cluster out of a 86 I am going to try but wondered if you guys had any opinions. Oh, and all of the outside lights work fine.

Gauge problems

I found the problem with the tach. The wire from the dist had come a little loose. Any idea on the speedo? I am going to double check the wiring on the speedo but if you guys know what I might of done any help would be great.
