Ground Wire Cut,and Gauge Still Shows Full. Whats Up?
Well today I did some work trying to find out why my gauge is stuck on full. I found out that the Tan wire is power, purple is for the sender unit, and black is the ground. Now after messing around with it I figured that it might be a bad ground. So I went to cut the ground wire, and make a new ground. Well when I cut the ground wire I notice that the gauge was still stuck on full. So now this leaves the question. What is it? Is it a bad ground in the sender unit. From what I think if the sender unit was bad the gauge would be on empty. If someone can help,or know something please let me know. Thanks

Depending on how the sender unit went out you may not nesscarrily get an empty reading. If it smohow stuck or shorted, then it would show full. It might not be a bad idea to drop the tank and check it out, and if you still have the stock electric pump in there, replace it.
Yeah that would be my next idea to drop the tank. I think I will do that soon. But it is Hell to drop the tank. If it is the sender unit it might have gotten grounded out. But I will look into all of it soon. Thanks for the advace.
