Digital dash question

Digital dash question
Just bought an 87 GTA with the digital dash, and noticed that the screen that displays the mileage is not very clear. You can kinda see the numbers at night but not at all during the day. Do I just need to replace some bulbs or is the problem something else? Thanks.

Perform an archive search using the terms DIM + DIGITAL + DISPLAY, and thumb through the results. It seems that there are common connection problems on the HV fluorescent displays on these systems, and there was at least one place that specialized in repair.
