i think found out whay my speedo doesn work. its because my vats system isnt sending any juice to my pcm .does any one know how to disable the vats ?

 

If the car runs it isn't the VATS. The VATS does not control voltage to anything other than the starter enable relay which feeds the starter solenoid. It should not affect anything to do with the speedometer or VSS circuit.

 

sorry... i never mentioned that the car had a 350 in it. it used to be a 3.1 but i put a carbueted 350 in it. that would explain why it runs but i still cant figure out why my speedo doesnt work.i was told the vats shuts off the pcm. does it?

 

Vats does 2 things. It will not let the engine crank, and it will not allow the ECM to pulse the fuel injectors. What year?

ok thanks guy i got it fixed. the computer chip was bad. i got a new one from a junk yard and all my gauges work now.
