the resistance of my key. The steering column was on its way out so i bought a used from another camaro just like mine. However, I'm not good at using the volt meter. What do I set it at in order to determine the resistance of the old key, in order to get a new key cut with the proper resistance in it. If you could please put it in laymen terms, I'd appreciate it very much!!

Thanks

some where on the dial(?) is probably a setting that is 20K with a horse shoe looking thing after it(maybe a range with that and then just a 20K) you may have lower settings also but you need to use anything higher that 15K(15,000) since the highest resistor value is around 11,000, then you also need to pay atention to the decimal point( example... on the 20K scale, 0.11 is 110 ohms, 1.12 is only 1,120 ohms, but 11.2 is 11,200 ohms
oh, and the horse shoe thing is the sign for OHMS, which is the measure for resistance
