Let me understand this whole fuel sender guage past full thing
ok so my fuel sender has been past full for a long time now and based on the search I did this. Grounded the pink wire to see if the guage would read empty.
It never read empty so am i susposed to assume that i either have a bad sender or it is open somewhere or corroded?
I grounded both the wire and the connector that just leades to the tank.
i'm not sure which one i was susposed to do so i did both...
is the only solution to drop the tank and get a new sender? that really sucks

pink wire should be hot, tan or similar color would be the sending unit to guage wire, it is variable ground which variably moves the needle of the guage depending on where the float arm contact is cointacting the wire wrap on the unit itself,
if there is no hot with key going to guage then something else is wrong, also check other wire for ground, you shoudl have some ground, wont be complete ground, unless wire is grounded out on something, which would make guage needle peg to one side
