My drivers side window goes up slow and halfway then it stops... then I turn the car off for a while turn it on and try it and it goes up... same when going down... I assume thats the motor, but I am not sure... the passengers side doesnt do anything so I am not sure whats wrong with that one... if I take a light tester to that and put it int he motor to see if its getting power might that work to tell me whats up? My hatch opener used to work fine, now all of the sudden it doesnt, so I am not sure... any help would be great... I am no electrician...

First, make sure the window drive linkage is lubricated. The motor has a thermal breaker that will do exactly that if the motor is drawing excessive current from a binding condition. Unfortunately most of the time it's the brushes that wear down to the point where you get intermittent operation of the motor. Vader, one of the moderators here has an excellent article on servicing the windows. Changing the motor is a bitch. I usually leave the motor in place and if you can get to it pop off the brush end of the motor and service it that way. The original brushes have a high copper content for high current. Believe it or not I usually just buy a rebuilt motor, gut it for the parts put the old junk in the new one and return it for the core credit. Test light should be fine to diagnose the other side, hatch motor they have a lot of problems.

This is the first time I ever have to mess with power windows... So I dont have a clue about what any of that stuff is or where its located exactly... The hatch was the only thing that actually worked untill I started to dig around by the switched under the consol...
that was my fault I am sure...
that was my fault I am sure... Knyght,
Danno is on it. You may need to clean, lubricate, and adjust the guides and linkages for the window. If the problem persists, you may have already worn the motor brushes down to an unusable state. You can repair that without a lot of trouble:
