Fan switch wire location(i searched)

I just found the location of the of the fan switch, on the head between #6 and #8 exhaust ports. after much time spent leaning over the engine bay and underneath the car, it has finally been found.
When i bought the car, 88 305 tbi, the previous owner had removed the switch. the fan runs constantly, and i cannot find the wiring for the switch to reinstall it
anyone no where the wire comes from, from which bundle, where it runs along?.

check the relay switches for the fans. they may have gone bad. they are located on the drivers side by the hood hinge.

On my 87 TPI the wire runs with the knock sensor wire thats plugged into the block on the passanger side just below the fan sensor.

The mechanic i bought the car from removed all of the AC components, there are a couple of wires that have been spliced together. i think he spliced the switch wires so that the fan runs constantly. i cannot find the switch connector anywhere.

If you look at a daigram of the ecm wiring you will find what pin that the wire goes to on the connector. If you can't find the wire you could run a wire from that pin to a new connector for the fan turn on switch. Or get a manual switch, but you'd have to remember to turn it on.

If you can't find the diagrams to figure out the pin let me know and i'll post it.

the connector to the fan switch I have is busted up. (heat)
I changed from tpi to carb. Is the knock sensor connector the same type. If so, I could just cut if off and replace the old fan switch connector.

I figure since I went carb, no need for the knock sensor.

am I right? are the connectors the same?

They look identical, not sure if they're the same though. It most likely is. Probably a better idea to just sell the harness and buy the connector for $10 though.

harness has already been cut, so it wont really matter.

as long as it will work? I think autozone has one for $5 and the one on the knock sensor is probably brittle also from the heat.

Might as well get a new one.
