electric rear hatch solenoid

Hi, I bought this solenoid a few days ago that came of an 89 IROC and I have an 86 Trans Am. Will it still work if it came of a camaro? Also, I was told by someone that there are two types of solenoids. One for power pull down units and the other for the regular latching systems. I dont know if this one will work on my POWER PULL DOWN UNIT. I just want to know if anyone else has this particular one on their POWER PULL DOWN UNIT?

Car: 1982 Trans Am

Engine: 350 Crate

Transmission: TH350

Axle/Gears: 3.23

That looks like the one on my T/A. I DON'T have power pull down. Camaro/Firebird makes no difference.
