Well for starts, there are little wire loops behind your seats on each side to release the tonnaeu cover. At least you can get the top up.

there are two wires at switch; one is orange which is the power feed from fusebox ,other color i can't remember(black, maybe),it goes to a switch on shifter so you don't accidently pop open tonneau in gear, then from that switch to tonneau release. hope this helps

What does the top release look like?
Hi there,
Recently, I finally got my IROC! It's an '88 convertible. It need some work but it's in pretty nice shape. However, the cable and handle that release the convertible top from the tonneau cover are all missing. I'm thinking of fabricating something for it but I need some pictures of what the handle system looks like so I have a starting point. I may be able to pull a trunk release cable from an old Sunbird I saw at a bone yard and rig that up so I can release it from the driver's seat, but I'd rather use something that looks more original. I've look on eBay, The Paddock, Year One, Thirdgenresource and Hawk's. Hawk's has the part but for the 89-92 year. According to them, that one's too short to be used on my '88. Any help and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Later,
Marcos
