First of all.. Welcome to Thirdgen!

Well your Friend was wrong obvisouly. Do you still have all the TPI and wiring harness etc.??? There are about 7 - 8 wires you will need to get yourself back up and running. Please tell me you didn't cut the harness off by the main junction block under the Master Cylinder??? Let me know what you still have, and I will help to get you up an running.

There is a main Junction Block under teh Master Cylinder, this is where all the wireing from under the hood mates up with everything inside the car. There are a few wires that are bunched together they will be a fairly thick wire, should be 2 Oranges and two reds, and one Purple. The red and orange ones will have fuseable links built into them. These are your wires that go to the starter. If you can, remove them form the Harness and re use them. Do you still have all the TPI stuff??? I mean the intake and etc? Are you selling this left over stuff??

all i have is the harness but i traded my buddy the TPI for some 2.02 heads off of a corvette and a Proformer RPM intake and a holley carb. but i'm almost sure of what ya talkin bout with them wires. so if i just take the wires from the harness and wire them the the right ones on the main junction block it should work??

Well yes, as long as you get the right wires. Most of them are Red actually and one of them comes to a point where it has a little black cylinder (fuseable link) and turns to one Orange wire. These all go to the starter, and then you have one Purple wire, this is where the actual ignition sends the power to the solenoid to start the car. By the way nice score! TPI intake for 2.02 heads, and a intake and carb. Dang! You scored off your friend well there. TPI intakes are becoming cheaper and cheaper every day. I buy complete systems ECM, harness and all for $150 - 200 Canadain dollars. Excellent barter work!
