my power door locks are going crazy!

just got back from driving to the store... its been pouring rain the last 2 days (and its STILL coming down) but as im driving i hear this "click" from over my shoulder.. hmm.. drive along some more "click-click-click-clickclick" heh...

the next time i hear it i look at the power door lock.... its twitching... i touch the unlock button.. it comes all the way out...... and then both locks slam to the locked position.

every time i unlock them, they lock back automaticly..... and now the unlock button doesnt work.....

i think water got in the door and shorted out the power lock switch... or i have demons in my car

right now i have the fuse pulled, but i need to figure it out asap... im going on a 1300mile road trip this sunday and with that fuse out i have no horn, cig outlet power or interior lights.....

That's the "Hey-Baby-can-I-Get-A-Kiss-Goodnight?" feature.

Standard on most single-male automobiles....well, if it's not, it should be.

I had the same problem. After I pulled the button, it seemed that the button was so worn from use it was stuck with the door lock engaged. A new junkyard button fixed me up.

Had the same problem with mine......Look under the panel by your fuses and locate the door lock relay. Tap on it a few times and see if that works. Age is an enemy with relays.

well... it was dirty water in the drivers side switch...

however, from holding them closed for so long, my door 'noids are weaker

i now have to somtimes tap the button so they jiggle locked instead of them slamming with a solid click.....

I had that problem too. Turned out the entire switch was bad. Few bucks later I had a new one working perfectly.

[QUOTE=MrDude_1;1484345]well... it was dirty water in the drivers side switch...

I am having the exact same problem and it only happens after rain or washing the car so i suspected that water was getting to the power locks somehow. How was the water getting in and where? Thanks!
