Need help ASAP

My 95 Blazer's driver side power mirror was recently hit in a hit and run. Since then, my old battery went, so I changed it yesterday. Today, my battery light comes on again. The battery is only 1 day old!!! I am 99% sure that because the side mirror is power and was hit, that it is draining power from the battery even when the car is off. The mirror is currently hanging from the side of my car by the power wire and is scraping the paint on my door. My question is this: If I cut the power mirror wire, will the wire still drain the battery? I don't care too much about the cost of a new wire since my insurance is covering most of the repairs. I have an appointment at an autobody place for next saturday, so instead of having to disconnect my battery everytime I park my car, can I just cut the wire or take out the mirror fuse? I am already going to need another $90 battery, so instead of using up one every 2 days for the next week what should I do? Sorry that this is non thirdgen related, but I need to know what to do. You can lock this as soon as I get an answer, but please just wait until then. Thanks for reading and responding in advance.

cut the wires and tape or cap them to keep them from grounding out against the body, then let the body shop worry about fixing them.

There is little chance of that being your problem. Worst case if you tried to hit the power switch to move the mirror you would blow a fuse. PM me if you want, got a lot of experience with late model S-10's if thats what you got. Sounds like a charging issue or some other parasitic draw. If the battery is drained simply charge it. No need to change the battery every time it discharges especially if it's a new one.
