Which set up better?Distibutor w/coil?

Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Which set up better?Distibutor w/coil?
I have an 86 Trans Am with HEI coil mounted on top of the cap now.Im buying an 88 GTA that has the coil not mounted to the cap.I was thinking about swapping out distibutors so i have my HEI coil in cap on my 88 GTA but i was wondering if its worth the trouble.Is one set up better than the other or does it not make a difference?
