Need Help with Sealed Beam Conversion
Need Help with Sealed Beam Conversion
Hi,
I just purchased a set of Sealed Beam Conversion Headlights from http://www.eurolights.com for my 84 Camaro. I got the Xenon filled bulbs.
This kit is for the low beams, and allows you to use a H4 bulb. According to their site, that no modification is needed for this conversion.
Well I just got the kit, and when I plug these bulbs into my harness and turn the low beams on, now the inner lights will also come on very dim. Then if switch to High beam, the inner beams will get brighter.
I know its not he wiring because I put my old sealed beams back in, and everything works fine?
Any ideas?
I've done a search on this board, and found multiple threads where other people have done this swap, and had no problems. So what could wrong?
Thanks
chris.

The problem is that the terminals on the standard sealed-beam headlights are different location than the ones on the H-4 bulbs. Try the information from:
http://catalog.com/susq/other/genlamp.htm
It explains the difference very clearly.
You might also check on Ebay, I have seen some kits for hooking the lights directly to the battery listed there.
Good Luck

Ya after I made this post, I found the tech article on the sealed beam conversion.
I ended up making my own harness and wired it directly from the battery using relays.
Lights sure look nice, just wish I would have know before I ordered them that I would have to do all that. I would have waited for summer, it was darn cold out there this weekend.

yep me too,,,, i was told aww theyll bolt and plug right in no mods...then after i bought them they say well in some cars you may just need this relay....so I looked on here and yes i see everyone useing relays,,so im like dauh where does it plug in, not realizing i needed to wire it in myself. All in all it ended up fine,,,i still need to upgrade my power wires as the wires get alittle warm..so i think a thicker wires would denifit.
Ya I won't buy anything else from them, just because they weren't honest about it up front. If they would have said somewhere on their site, or in the multiple emails I had with them before i purchased about the different pin outs on the bulbs. I wouldn't have had a problem with it, but telling me after the fact bugs me.
Their loss, I was considering buying a HID conversion kit from them.
