Temperture Gauge replacement
I have a 1986 Firebird..What would be the procedure in removing old gauge and installing new gauge..Nothing hard to answer, i hope.This all i ask!!!!!!!!!:hail: :hail:

whats wrong with the guage? reason i'm asking is they don't go bad for no reason. there is a sensor that runs that guage and if your guage is wrong then its more than likely going to be that instead of the guage.

I agree with tstokka. I would replace the sending unit first, or rather check it. I know on my car it's on the drivers side head between the 1 and 3 cylinders, yours should be the same.

The first sign of the gauge being at fault/broken is, it doesn't do a 'test sweep' to full hot while cranking the engine. When you start (crank) the car, the gauge grounds and should go full hot then return to whatever temp the sender is reading.
