Computer woes

I had to stare at the monitor for awhile to decide if this should be posted here or in the TBI section. I flipped a coin...

I'm using a 350 TBI motor and a 4L60E combo in a project I am working on that originally was carbed. The donor vehicle was a 94 Sierra. I went about it slowly and used the harness from the donor, had schematics on hand and everything, but I think I messed up somewhere. It was priming the pump and all, and I was getting spark but it wouldn't run. With the key on, the TPS would make an awful noise if the throttle was moved. After a nasty backfire, it quit trying to work altogether.

The ECU is a 16196395-BHMD. I have looked all over the net, and cannot find the pin-outs to this thing, nor any info on swapping into something else. I am confident that I could figure this out with the pin-outs. Anyone have a copy of this?

I see info on the 747 ECU everywhere, but that wouldn't allow me to use the 4L60E. Did any of the 3rd gens have this tranny? If so, what computer was used in them?

Thanks for the link- that was pretty much what I was looking for. Question- on the diagram marked "diagram 3 1988-98 GM C/K series schematic" it shows ECM connections labeled A, B, C, D. For instance, the fuel injectors go to D4 and D16 on that schematic.

BUT, when I look at the "diagram 13 1994 GM truck 4.3, 5.0, 5.7, 7.4 schematic" it's ECM connections are labled A, B, E, F. It shows the injectors at A9 and A16.

I figured I'd follow the year-specific diagram and compare it to what I have, but my ECM doesn't show the row letters. It has a red pin array on the left and a blue one on the right. If I look inside where the pins are, they are numbered, but not lettered. Nowhere on that site had info to answer this question. Do you know? Thanks again.

Try holding the ECM so the connectors are facing you and the clips that retain them in the ECM are pointed to the left. Now starting with the top left A Top right B Bottom left C bottom Right D

Do and of the wires in the pin locations match up to what you have? If not flip the ECM so the retaining clips point to the right and use the same procedure for finding out which is A, B, C etc.
