Fusable Link Question
Hey guys sorry about this stupid question but I just bought my 84 Z28 and there is a fusable link that comes off the positive terminal to the alternator, now the link was blown I guess and the guy cut it out and taped it up LoL I went to buy another positive cable and it doesn't have a fusable link on it at all? should it? Also could this be why my Tach/interior lights dont work properly? Sorry for the novel and the stupid questions guys.
Thanx

You should have a fuse link in that line, if need be get one from the dealer or auto parts store and install one. That won't affect any problem with your interior lights or tach or at least it shouldn't if it's hooked up correctly. What exactly is the problem with the lights and tach?

Tach Jumps all over the place, kinda bounces around outside of the range that it should. The cluster lights and stuff are super dim and dont always come one, also my choke light never turns off. The previous owner said all these problems startedwhen he blew the link that's why I asked.

Interesting, I wonder if it's charging correctly. You might want to check the voltage at the battery with the lights on and see whats going on. It would be the first place I would start.
