Will a 91 Camaro dash work in an 85?

I'm completely redoing my 1985 Camaro. With this, I'm adding updated gauges from a 1991 z28. The lower dash from the z28 is more curvy with a better flow and the new gauges are a lot cooler. My dash top should bolt rite on, but will the lower dash just drop in place of my old one? I know its the same size and everything, but is it the same bolt pattern? I'm like 98% sure it should be, but I just wanna make sure before I take it all apart.

the dash mounting bolts are different, you will need to take the monting brackets from the 90-92 body and weld them in place of the 89-82 you will also need the entire wire harness:eng.comp. to the taillights, change your speedo cable to the vss,its a lot of work but the rewards are sweet!

Wait, what could I possibly need to weld? Maybe I worded it wrong... There are basically like 3 levels to the dash: the top where the speakers are, the middle where the gauges and vents are, and the bottom where eveything else is. What I'm taking from the 91 is just the middle. I don't have the dash or the car to look at right now but as I remember, there were some simple screws that threaded into the plastic of the dash into plastic mounts.... What welding are you talking about? Also, you bring up a good point: how do I change the gauges to the electronic type? Also, what do the brake lights have to do with anything? And last, maybe I wont be able to do this? I'm not going to be using a computer as I'm going with a carb and a manual trans.... HELP!!!! Thanks in advance!!

You need to weld the mounts that hold the dash to the firewall (on the sides near the doors)

You need a tranny sending unit box to go from cable to electronic speedo. Do a search and you should find more info on that.
