When I was driving the other day my lights flickered, headlights, gauge lights too. Today when I went to drive I have nothing interior. The headlights, dome lights, trunk release, gauge lights all gone. The brake lights and turn signals work though. I had lights then went to turn on head lights and all gone again. Sounds like a short somewhere but where would it be to affect that whole system? I really need help, thanks guys. Oh yeah 1991 Z-28

 

Had that problem with my 86 IROC quite a few years ago. Turned out to be a fusible link at the starter. I dont know if this holds true through the years, but it sounds like it.

 

I'm not saying your wrong but what do those have to do with the interior? This is confusing cause everything works except for gauge lights, headlights, tail lights, dome lights, trunk release. The part that confuses me is the trunk release how does that tie into tthe light system. Thanks.

 

Have you checked your ACC (accessory) fuse. That is the one that controls the lights and trunk release that you have mentioned.
