Colum Question
I HAVE A 1989 CAMARO WITH THE RESISTER IN THE KEY. I BOUGHT A WHOLE OTHER COLUM OUT OF ANOTHER 89 THAT CAME COMPLETE WITH THE KEY. NOW WHEN I PUT THE NEW COLUM IN WOULD I HAVE TO SWITCH MY OLD KEY AND IGNITION SWITCH FOR IT TO WORK PROPERLY. I AM NOT SURE IF THERE WAS DIFFERENT RESISTERS IN EVERY CAR IN 89 OR WHAT.

Just take both keys to your local dealership and have them re-code the new key (replacement column) with the resistance value from the old key. Shouldn't cost you anything. There are fifteen different resistance values that were used.
