tap into headlights?

ok so i changed out the front nose from one that doesn't have fog lights to one that does, here is my question, i live in VA, so the fog lights have to turn off when i turn on the high beams, and yes they actually check that ****......gay i think so.......but i was woundering since the low beams are killed when the highs are turned on, i was woundering if i could just tap into that configuration, it seems like the simplest, and in theory it would work, any idea's?

yes it would work, but then the the foglights would only be able to be turned on if the headlights were on, its far the simplest way to do it, but not the best, i say u buy a 30/40 amp relay, and have it so when the relay is energized it cuts the power to the foglights, the highbeam power will enegize the relay, i think that is how it is setup on stock foglight systems for the thirdgen
