coolant fan and other woes
Today I discovered that my coolant fan didn't come on. After checking the fan relay, it appears that its 12v+ (big wire that used to be on whenever the ignition was on) is no longer giving 12v. I checked a wiring diagram, which says there's a fusible link on that wire, but where exactly is it? What does it look like? I'm fairly confident the fusible link is the problem (I'm pretty sure I shorted it out yesterday, trying to fix another problem -
)
Next on the list, my temp. guage hasn't been working for the last few days. WINALDL shows a coolant temperature reading. That reading is from the sensor on the intake manifold by the thermostat; does the guage use that sensor? Any thoughts on what could cause a temp guage to stop working?
As you can imagine, I won't drive the car while it has a faulty cooling system AND no way for me to know what the temp is while driving, so thanks a ton to anyone who can give me some quick advice!

the coolent sender for the computer is in the water neck. The coolent temp sender for the gauge is a small plug like thing with only one wire, it is by the number 1 spark plug

Thanks! I checked the sender by the spark plug, it looks like its in pretty bad shape. I guess it's the culprit. Hopefully it ( and a bunch of other things) will get replaced this weekend.
