How do I remove the heater control unit? Do I need to remove the center console? I have a Haynes repair manual but it dosen't say. Any help would be appreciated. I do have a control I bought on E-bay.

Nope, you shouldn't have to remove the console. All you need to do is remove that decorative face plate that goes over your control and radio. It either "pops" on/off or screws on/off, depending on which car you have. Once that's off, you'll see a few small bolts that hold your control unit in place. Remove those, and then it's just a matter of disconnecting it.
