Dist. External Coil Question
Hi folks,
Can someone tell me how many wires go into a remote coil ?
There are two female recepticals on the coil and two female recepticals on the distributor. Are any of these ports not used, or am I missing some wires?

Thanks in advance for any help !!!

You're missing wires.
There's a grey connector on the wiring harness on the passenger side that plugs into the coil. There's also a wire with a black connector that plugs into the coil with a two prong plug on the other end that plugs into the distributor. There should also be another black four prong plug that plugs into the distributor coming out of (I think), the wiring harness that goes across the back of the engine.

Yup, all are used. And the two that fit on the coil interlock. One(I don't remember which) has to go on first.

Dist sends the C terminal pulse to the coil on pin A of the black connector (nearest to edge of coil) to charge it. Coil sends 12V to dist on pin B of the black connector. Grey connector A sends the tach signal to the dash cluster (and is connected to black A inside the coil) and Grey B gets switched 12V from the fuse panel (and is connected inside the coil to black B). HTH!
