Fan staying on

The fan behind the radiator stays on all the time my friend says that’s not normal and I should fix that but I don’t know what’s causing it to stay on.

It turns on when the key is on the on position and when the car is started it stays on all the time I have heard it should cycle but it doesn’t

Sounds like someone has your fan wired direct to the ignition...my brother did with his 84' Z28 because he was to cheap and lazy to fix the problem correctly....

the wire to the fan switch could be shorted, same effect

True true... that is actually what I am going to do when I get myself a 12v relay... going to run +12V through a lighted switch inside my car to a +12V relay, when energized , the other side of this relay will pull the fan switch wire (I think it's a green or green/white wire going to the fan relay) to ground.... which I hope will turn on the fan at my leisure
