90 RS Tach Problem and need fan wiring diagram
I just bought a 90RS and the tach rests at about 2 grand and redlines when cruising down the road. Is there an easy way to reset the needle or is it shot? Also, the fan wiring has been butchered and only works when the ac is on. I need to know the best way to set the fan up and also be able to run it without the AC.

Welcome to the boards.
If you look on the pass side of the engine between the 2 rear exhaust ports, you should see something screwed into the cyl. head. This is the fan switch that would normally operate you fan when the a/c is off. This should have a dark green/white stripe wire connected to it (sometimes other colors). This wire leads to the fan relay on the drivers firewall. The relay should have the same color wire running into it. If the wire has been ripped off the switch, you can just run your own jumper from the relay to the switch. You can also wire it to a toggle and then to a ground to control the fan yourself. Alot of people do this because the stock fan switch 'on' temp is nice, lukewarm, 238°.
As far as the tach goes... I've been fortunate enough to not be cursed with that problem, yet, so I don't know the answer to that. I've seen postings about it more than once though. You may try doing a search to better answer your question.

On the tach needle, I have occasionally reset the needle by disconnecting the battery and removing the cover plate and manually resetting it to zero with my finger. Reconnect the battery and ops check it by starting the engine before you put the cover plate back on.

Thanks
Thanks for the help. I may try to locate an aftermarket fan control and tap into the relay so I can have control without having to remember to turn it on.
As far as the tach cover, is the entire dash removal necessary to access it or is it much simpler?
