Hey guys, My car seems to be running like crap these days! I'm taking it to the shop thursday/friday but I had a question! I have a 92 camaro z28, I was fooling around under the steering wheel area. Once I removed the bottom cover (around the knee area) I saw a little black box close to the radio to the right and above the right shin!(Approx. 2.5x2.5") I pulled this box out, to see what it was! It had about 3-4 flat prongs on the box itself! Does anyone know what the hell I pulled out? It's back in the car now, it must have some purpose! Sorry my digital camera is broke! Please help!!!!It's hard to describe what this is when....you have no clue what "This" is?

 

I think you pulled out your audio alarm box. It's the tone you hear when you leave the keys in the ignition when you open the door or when you start the car or when you leave your headlights on etc. It's a nice thing to have, but I don't think it would casue any performance problems.

 

Eihter what DJX said or, it was the horn or hazzard relay.. none which would cause a running issue.

When's the last time your car has had a tune-up and air/fuel filter change, pcv, etc. ? Neglecting routine service can easily start to seem like there is a worse problem happening than really is. Just my opinion though... I could be wrong..

 

Hey guys, thanx for the response! It's the ignition bepper! Cause eversince the beep has a different sound! Cool I feel better! It's not a tune up issue, I baby my baby! It's something that I can't grasp? She'll go in the shop on thurs. I'll be in touch! Thanx again guys, I feel much better it wasn't me!
