fuel guage?
fuel guage?
what can cause a stock fuel guage in my 91 to read in accurate. it has almost 130,000 miles on it now and after the last fuel pump was changed it has had problems reading right. i no longer know when i'm close to running out of gas beyond my own guesses...
full when i fill it up.....about 40 miles later it drops to almost half and stays there the rest of the time. i usually stop at 100 miles and fill up at least 12 gallons or more every time. i know the car is sucking gas, but i don't know why the guage does what it does.

If it's been acting that way since the fuel pump was changed, I'd guess that the sender was damaged in the process.

jeez and i thought my gas mileage was bad with 20MPG highway lol
Maybe the actual sensor in the tank is broke? I dunno if it's the ball kind that floats or what.. just a thought.
