Remote Solenoid
Can anyone exlpain to me why when installing a remote starter solenoid my car seems to be possesed. While trying to connect the the wires that were originally on the starter the damn car seems to want to try starting on it own. Keys were in my pocket at the time. Also I have 5 wires going to the solenoid and I'm not sure what they do. I know one goes to the ignition switch, one to the interior stuff, and one to ignition coil. What do the other 3 do? One goes to the Alt/Generator (not sure what it does there) and the other, well really don't know what or where it goes.
Any help would be great. Right now I can only drive during daylight on nice days.

hmm.
i would say two things.
1. it shouldnt be trying to start since you should have the battery unplugged when installing it
2. its wired up wrong.

I connected the battery after all wiring was done and the starter started cranking immediatly.
Not sure if I've got it wired correctly or not. I pulled all the wires that were on the original solenoid and put them in the corresponding place on the remote solenoid. Right now I've got one of the red wires losely attached to the + side of the remote and the car starts but no accesories. If I tighten the wires down and reconnect the battery the starter kicks in ????

Problem solved, went to local auto parts store and replaced solenoid. Everything seems to be working fine now.
