Distributor

I'm in the process of ditching my 305 and adding a high hp motor...Question? What is the best distributor? I'm quite in a quandry between an HEI (W/ Vaccume adv.) or Mallory electronic (this is pointless). Or what does one suggest? I have heard that the vaccume advance models with mechanical advance also are a must...but will ask advice on which is the best....the Motor is going the be a crate GM P/N12498772 ZZ383/425...ditch the manafold and add a Holley 477 blower set-up....any suggestions on the correct distributor??? thanks, Cocacolakidd.

personally id go with a modified stock 75-79 years HEI with a 454 module, you can pick out the best weights and springs somehow im not sure how, you have to be able to measure advance at certain RPMs and know what is best for the engine, and swap springs and weights til its advancing in correct time for the engine

you can get performance pickup coil and ignition coil too for these.,

use google.com to find out all this

good luck
