Accessory short, help!!!

Okay

I pulled the power and ground off of the cigar lighter and spliced them to work with a few toggle switches. Now I keep blowing the fuse as soon as I connect the battery. Everything is taped and fastened correctly, why would this be shorting? Is there something special about the lighter wires? Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

IMHO, not enough details to fully understand, replace your grd wire back(blk) to its original location. Use the hot wire(org?)thru your toggle switches only. Electrical components controlled by switches should in most cases have its own ground by mounting to body frame or by its own wire to grd or by common bar. Never break grd wires thru CB or SWTs unless specifically required. Hopes this helps, Good Luck!
