Installing a 90-92 145 MPH Gauge Cluster
I read a few posts earlier about this subject and I am hoping to get answers for them (to my questions) all in one forum at one time.
I have a '92 RS w/ 5.0 Liter TBI. It has the 110 (115?) MPH speedo. I want the 145 MPH speedo. Questions:
1) Straight forward swap (I have had my gauges out before)?
2) "Plug and play" (as I have heard some say)?
3) Someone on here said that they changed out the odometer. Is that true? Pipe dream? Asking for more problems than I care to deal with?
4) Do you have to change any of the sensors to perform this swap? (for RPM, MPH, OIL Pressure, Water Temp, etc, etc.)
5) Was it worth the price, look good?
6) What cars did these gauge clusters come out of?
Thanks for reading and (hopefully) answering some or all of these questions!!!!

ok, I have a 92 RS and I have done this swap.
1. I had my physical swap done in 20 minutes.
2. All my gauges worked fine after the swap.
3. This I dont know about, as I just left the new odometer alone. Wasnt worth the hassle to to try and change anything.
4. I didnt have to change anything, all my sensors worked on the new cluster.
5. It was very worth it, even though I still cant go over 110 (governer). I payed 125 shipped for mine. That is about the average I have seen these go for, as they are kinda limited.
6. You want lo look for any 90 iroc, and any 91-92 Z-28 I believe. Not sure if engine code mattered or not.
