TPS voltage?
For some odd reason, I cannot get my TPS voltage past .35 VDC, and I know ideal should be .54 or so, ive adjusted it as high as it can go. Its not causing any major problems in the idle or anything, its a tad low, but not stalling out. Any idea what could cause this? This is my 2nd "new" TPS btw. Thanks!

Do you have the right style TPS? There were 2 different designs and if you have the wrong one it won't read right. If your throttlebody has been changed for some reason, you need the TPS that matches the year car the TB came from.

To my immediate knowledge its the stock TB, I got the TPS from advanced Auto, I always make sure they are getting parts for my 5.7 and not a 5.0 as they have tried to do before. Dunno though, I mean the car drives fine, idles a tad low of course, but I do like things to be "just" right on my car. Thanks!

What TheGreatJ is saying is that the TPS design changed in 1990 when they went to the MAP system in our cars. Sometimes when you go to auto zone or any parts store. They will get the parts messed up unless they really know what they are doing. The TPS for the 89 and earlier models is slotted and adjustable while the TPS for the 1990 models and up are not adjustable. BTW, the TPS for the TPI engines for 1989 was the same for VIN "F" & "8" engines.

Ahh ok, I get it now hehe, I know what yer sayin bout them guys at the parts store too, went in and asked for a MAF sensor and the guy gave me a MAP sensor and then proceeded to argue with me when I told him my car didnt have MAP. So any ideas on why I can't adjust my TPS past .35VDC?

What are you using to measure the voltage?
I remember when I used a multimeter I got some crazy readings. I think I had it hooked to the wrong terminals or something, I was in a hurry at the time with a buddy of mine wanting to get going out. Anyways, I gave up on it for awhile until a few weeks ago. I used my laptop hooked up to the ALDL and read it from there, my voltage was a tad bit high if I remember right. I set it to .53V (only had that or .55V option with how the WinALDL was reading the bits) and under WOT, it goes to between 4.27-4.30V. Don't know if I noticed a huge difference or not, but I do feel better about it being set right.

im using a basic DMM, I also thought maybe my DMM was giving me funky readings, .25VDC at the time, but I had it on a scanner last week and it also said the TPS was at .25VDC.
