Sorry i didnt have time to do a search and find out if this had already been asked...My temp gauge is fluctuating from low to redzone like as im driving.

My guess...I recently installed a 160* thermostat and i believe when i was reading about it cars that were programmed to have 190* therms ran funny with the 160* therm in cooler temps....all summer my car has run fine with it (hot conditions) and its read just great but one night i was leaving a parking lot and it started being funny it was in the danger zone and i had just started driving...so i stopped checked my fluids they checked out fine so i fig it was the thermostat or my actual temp gauge is becoming faulty...it seems to read ok after the car has been drivin for a bit but im still not for certain what it is?

Is this something to be cautious of? Does anyone know these symptoms and is it because of the 160* stat in place of the 190*? Please help me out on this one
