1992 L98 engine run hot/shut down

I would just like to share what I did to repair my 1992 Z28 w/L98. Issue: once engine got hot (over 200), the engine would just shut off at stops and die if going down the road letting your foot off the gas pedal. So I would have to use both feet to get my Camaro home. I noticed every time this would happen the temp gage would act erratically. Well what fixed this problem was the engine coolant temperature sending unit. At 70 degrees if I remember the sending unit should have registered at 3300 ohms. My sending unit was only reading 2700 ohms. New temp sending unit at store registered at 3300 ohms. Now my Z28 runs like new.
