aftermarket Tach, need to know what each wire is for.
hey guys i just bought an aftermarket autometer monster tach w/shift light that i am mounting in my dash. the shift light looks really pimp where the cigarette lighter used to be. anyway this tach has 4 wires, and i dont know for sure what each one does, below are my guesses, tell me if i am correct, thanks.
Red 12v ign only
Black ground
Green Tach signal from white wire on distributor
White 12v for light
is this correct?

White 12v for light
for all autometer and auto gauge tachs:
red is ignition on power... (+12v)
black goes to ground
green is tach signal
white is for gauge lighting. connect to your dash lights if you want it to dim with the lights.
to make it work with a 4 cyl signal (for LS1s and 4cyl cars) clip both loops on the back and insulate them. to make it work on a V8, make sure both loops are connected. to make it work on a V6, you only clip one of the loops, but i dont remember wich one.
