Has anyone seen the guage cluster on the newer Acura's? I love the way the lights fade in and out when you turn the car on and off, and also how bright and clear they are. I would like to modify my guages to fade in and out and possibly to be lit up the same way the Acura's are.

My question is has anyone modified their thirdgen guages to do something like this, or does anyone know how the guages on the Acura work? Any info would be helpful., thanks.

 

Fading in/out would be pretty easy - just add a capacitor for the fade out and a wire wrap around thing (I forgot what they're called - a wire wrapped around a magnet; it resists changes in current) for the fade in.

As for sharpness - if you converted everything over from a red/orange light to a bright white everything will probably look a bit more crisp.

 

Easiest mod for 'crisp' is to get indiglo overlays then add LEd's for needle backlighting.... (though.. my digi cam doesn't do crisp)...

 

Where did you get your indiglo overlays and how much did you pay for them?
