well i was bored so i desided to try to get my cigarette lighter to work. I removed the guage bezel. I took the cig. lighter out of the guage bezel and put the old one in from the old guage bezel(it worked before i changed the guage bezel) and cleaned it and then put it in the gauge bezel. Then i put the cigarette lighter and and i get a puff of smoke and the fuel pump kicks on and it blew the fuse for the interior lights. Any clue why it would do this ?


This is not the only electrical problems i have:

no parking lights (unless I use the turn signals or 4 ways)
No headlights at all
taillights only work unless im on the brake
lights around the plate dont work
guages + shifterplate+ac dont light up
high/low beam switch doesnt work anymore
cruise doesnt work only the wipers work.

This is becoming to be a PITA. I would like some help please

 

You have a short and some really screwed up wiring if the fuel pump kicked in when you put the cigarette lighter in.

 

its never done that before it scared the hell out of me. Well i Straightened the lights out. It turned out that my dad didnt properly wire the radio up. But they headlights wont turn on for some reason. I tried to just hardwire the lights individually to test them out to see if the lights are good and they didnt light up. I dont understand how that could be 2 of them are brand new.
