heater troubles

ok...i got everything installed so the car has heat...everything is new!...new resistor, new blower motor and even the blower motor control switch..btw...i am using parts from when the car was a a/c car...now its a non a/c set up

i have a few problem...it only works on a few speeds..everything i wired up correctly..it was pretty much plug and play...why would it not work on the 2nd and 4th speed?

another thing is it worked for awhile then completelt just stopped working....we tested the motor and it worked fine..traced it bacl to the blower control switch not getting anything for power...i can't find the wire that controls it going to the fuse box...wtf...does anyone know the 12 volt power wire that hooks into the control switch...we piggybacked the brownish wire on the harness and found an on/off hot in the fuse box for now...but i want this fixed properly

any help is appreciated!
