A short of some kind.

The other day I got off work to open my door and my as I Put my keys in and turn them My tach peged out. Then after shutting my door my interrir lights stayed on. The Switch wasnt on and I hit the door button a few times to see if it was in it. Nothing happend besides it dimmed a lil when the button was pressed. I went home and try to trace the short. I found out that it was coming from the interrior lights/ CD player. I checked all my wires on the CD player but nothing seemed bare or touched anything. With the wires still all hooked up to the speakers and disconnecting the Head unit from its clip on plug in the back, I wouldnt get a short. So Somehow I get a short from the CD player I guess! I played arround with the fuses a lil bit and it all worked fine after that. Then Today I got off work to find My Interrior lights were on! ......... Pulled the fuse and am trying to find my Problem. Any Ideas, Suggestions? Thanks guys.

I had this problem before but with the locks on my door they were auto so they were locking and unlocking on their own , wierd but it was raining that morning so i traced it foen a bare wire that wasn't completly covered in the engine bay don't if it rained in your area when your problem started but it could be a moisture problem... also check your amp positive wire if you ran it through any holes in the firewall or through the door seal it may be cracked or the plastic may have wore down..

Well after pulling the fuse and putting it back in a few times the problem stoped....... Very strange. There was no moisture when this happend so I doubt that has anything to do with it. But Hey thanks for trying to help!
