fan wiring

i have a 305 tbi 1991rs. My electric fan cuts on when i turn the key to on. i do not see any extra wires running to my fan other than the connector. well i think there is a yellow connected to a purple/white strip wire connected together running near my fan. i dont know what could be causing this, i dont think it is the other wires also. could it be the relay or fan switch?

Did this just start happening or was it doing this from the start when you bought the car?

Sounds like the previous owner taped into the fan wiring (somewhere) and connected it to a 12 volt source when the Ignition is on.
