Fuel pump power and ground wires
I have a 85 iroc that had the TPI lb9 in it. I took that out and im installing a big block. Well, I took out all of the computer wires and I want to hook the fuel pump to the ignition. So what color is the power and ground wire. And where are they located.
Thank you
Mike

Wires
Well be careful because some people on here say that directly hooking it up "hacks" wires even though your not cutting a thing. I have a 89 camaro and the power wire to run the fuel pump is tan with a white strip. Its located on the driver side firewall. Two relays right next to the brake booster. Its the relay on your left if you are standing in front of the car. Now there is a ground wire there, but also somewhere connected in the mix is the ground that hooks up to the back of the block on the passenger side. If you have not hooked that ground up the pump will not work. By hooking up an IGNITION positive to the tan/white wire the pump will run all the time when the key is turned on. Hope this helps.

I believe that this is the post you are reffering to:

Wiring directly to the ignition is not good. At least put it on a switch that you can turn off in case of emergency, or a good theft deterent.
Power is always orange, ground is black, output probably grey and switch is green/white.
