hard starting problem

when I try to start my Trans Am the motor barley turns over then finally fires up, kind acts like the starter is bad and is drawing to much power from the battery. I bought a brand new starter and the same thing. I do have a remote solenoid so I eliminated that possibly by just hooking up the wires directly to the starter still the same. this car use to have full power everything but all those options were removed and everything converted to man b/c I hate these electrical problems. I litterally unhooked the steroe and the amp so those are no longer hooked up at all. the only thing that is still hooked up that could maybe cause a draw is the MSD box and the wiring harness on the tranny might be hooked up to get power but I have not checked that out. I am using a push button for the starter and also a c/b to disconnect the battery, kinda like the emerg cutoff switch. anyone have any ideas what it could be??? I am almost ready to completely strip the car of every last wire and start from scratch, prob will do it for sure at the end of the summer.
