Hi I disconnected the battery when I put a new alternator on. Now the vats,"Vehicle Anti Theft System", is keeping the starter from working. The access instructions in the owners manual apply to a vehicle with a CD player. The original audio device was a cassette player. I took my new system out and put the cassette player back in but still can't access the vats. Any Ideas???

Interesting in the fact that the VAT's system has nothing to do with the stereo system. Are you getting a "security" light that stays on when you turn the key or maybe no light at all? Does your key have the pellet in it? Dumb question here but did you reconnect the battery after installing the new alternator?
