will early third gen window switches work with a later third gen?

I have a 91 GTA with grey power window switches. I'd like to install black switches from an earlier thirdgen. Is this a direct swap?

If not, what needs to be modified? Different sized holes in the center console? Different wiring?

Thanks!
Bill

There shouldn't be a problem there. On the camaros the only difference was a change in the coloring of the symbols.

on camaros, the switch was identical every year except for the color of the trim and rocker... (and the printing on it)

on the birds, the wiring is identical, so its logical to assume that they didnt change the plugs, but even if they did, it could be made to work without much issue.

I don't know if it's early enough of a year for you, but I swaped my 89 firebird and 92 formula with no problem.
