Alright, I replaced the power window motor in my passenger door recently, but I think i have a slight problem. When I took the regulator out, that big spring shot off of it. So I replaced the motor and put everything back in, and put the spring in how I thought it was supposed to sit. I knew it was supposed to be in there tight, but I figured that when I bolted the regulator back up and moved the glass a little, it was put tension on it... man was I wrong. I finished putting the whole door back together and close it, of course, I hear the spring fall off again. So is this a bad thing? What exactly is that springs purpose, because the window's been working fine without it attached. Oh, and exactly how does that spring attach to the regulator, if anyone by chance has a picture, that'd be a really big help. Thanks in advance.

I don't have a picture to show you exactly how it is installed, however its purpose is to serve as a counter balance spring for the window regulator arm assembly.

hmm, i see. so it is kind of important then. guess i'm ripping the door apart again.
