HELP!!!
I just bought a 90 Formula and the headlights wont do squat. Here's what i have done so far. The actual lights do turn on, but i get nothing from the motors. No humming, grinding...nothing. I can move the buckets up and down by hand and the **** on top of the motor does NOT turn. I can turn the **** freely by hand, no resistance, and the buckets dont budge. I disconnected the plugs to the motors and tested for voltage there. While i had someone turn the headlights on and off, no voltage at all across the 2 wires. Next i disconnected weatherpack plugs going into the control module. I have 12v power going into the module on the 5 pin connector but nothing coming out of the male plug side of the module. So is the module bad? i want to be sure cause GM quoted me 208.00 for a new one. And since i live in bo hunk i cant find one used. Im also thinking the motors and bad to cause of the **** on the motors doing nothing. Any ideas. Thank you.
Edit: i tried hotwiring the motor itself straight off the battery with no success. The motor did not do anything. Bad motor assy? Thanks

Yes it sounds as if the headlight control module is bad. I picked up one at the PAP yard, but I haven't had a chance to test it yet. I would start with the module, but I can guarantee that alone won't solve the problem with the headlight motors. You;ll still need to rebuild them with a headlight repair kit such as the TDS p/n 207280 or p/n 209280. The instructions that are included with either kit will also help you repair the motor. Someone may have opened it and failed to re-install the springs behind the brushes.
